Treehouses at Lanrick Wedding // Jo & Kenny // Perthshire

You can hear the river from everywhere at Lanrick. It runs throughout the whole day.

Jo and Kenny got married on the bank of the Teith with their two daughters and their parents. That was the guest list. Eight people, a flower crown each for the girls, and the fishing hut by the water for a beautiful picnic lunch. Here’s how it went…

Getting ready in a treehouse

Nobody had to travel anywhere, which changes a wedding morning more than you'd think. Jo and Kenny got ready on site, in the treehouses surrounded by nothing but gorgeous woodland. The girls were in and out the whole time with their parents giving a helping hand. This treehouse had such a cosy and romantic vibe with a private deck to enjoy in between the getting ready moments.

The Ceremony

Claire the Humanist married them on the bank, with the river going the whole way through it. They each read their vows to one another. There was a handfasting and a quaich, with just their closest family sitting close by.

Eight people, no rows, no aisle with everyone near enough to hear every word. Afterwards, it was time for a beautiful picnic lunch in the fishing hut set up by Wild Picnics.

Where the Treehouses at Lanrick are

The Treehouses sit on the Lanrick Estate near Doune, between Callander and Dunblane, on the banks of the River Teith. The Trossachs National Park starts a few minutes up the road. It's about half an hour from Stirling and an hour from Glasgow or Edinburgh, so it's a lot more reachable than it looks in the photographs. If you're planning something small, in woodland or otherwise, get in touch and tell me what you've got in mind.
