Glasgow wedding photographer
Glasgow is home. It's where I'm based, it's where I've photographed so many amazing weddings, and it's a city I never get tired of shooting in.
From the grand Victorian architecture of the city centre to the leafy West End, to the quirky bars and restaurants tucked down lanes you'd walk past if you didn't know they were there - Glasgow weddings have a character all of their own. The people are warm, the venues are brilliant, and there's an energy to a Glasgow wedding that's hard to beat.
Glasgow Wedding Venues I Love
I've been lucky enough to photograph weddings at some of Glasgow's best venues, and I know these spaces inside out, where the best light is, the best spots for portraits, and how to make the most of each one.
Citation, Merchant City. Think sandstone columns, fairy lights, and one of the best staircases in Glasgow. The Merchant City location means great options for couple portraits on the surrounding streets too.
Oran Mor. This is another of my favourites over in the West End. With the beautiful stained glass and historic architecture, it truly is very unique and so close to some of the best spots around Byres Road and the Glasgow Botanics for more photo spots.
23 Montrose Street & Glasgow City Chambers. Grand doesn't even begin to cover it. The marble staircases, the stunning warm Satinwood and the location at the heart of the city. It's a beautiful spot to tie the knot.
Cottiers, West End. A converted church in the heart of the West End. Stained glass windows, incredible height, and a really relaxed atmosphere that suits the kind of wedding I just love to photograph.
Engine Works, Glasgow. This place is fantastic if you’re looking for something more modern, but still has those elegant and luxurious touches then this is the place. The lighting and architecture make a gorgeous backdrop for your ceremony and celebrations without travelling far from Glasgow.
Why Glasgow for Your Wedding?
Glasgow has something for everyone. If you want a grand, traditional venue, you've got City Chambers, the University Chapel, and the Cathedral. If you want something more contemporary, there's the Engine Works, SWG3, and BAaD. There’s also amazing venues like House for an Art Lover, One Devonshire Gardens, The Bothy and The Grosvenor - I’ve photographed them all! If you want intimate, there are incredible restaurants and boutique hotels throughout the West End and Merchant City.
The city is brilliantly connected too. Most of your guests can get here easily by train, there are two airports within reach, and there's no shortage of accommodation at every price point.
And the people. I'm biased, obviously, but Glasgow folk know how to celebrate. There’s a unique warmth, humour, and a complete lack of pretension about Glasgow - it all comes through in the photos and it's one of the reasons I love shooting Glasgow weddings so much.
What to Expect from Me
I focus on capturing your day as it actually happens; the real moments, the emotions, the details, the chaos. No awkward posing, no taking you away from your guests for hours, no asking you to do anything that doesn't feel natural. I’m always led by your vibe on the day and there’s no need to make concrete plans about how we’ll do things ahead of time.
We can spend about 20 minutes on couple portraits (or longer if you prefer) - a walk, a chat, and I'll catch the good bits in between. The rest of the day, I'm there in the background, photographing the story as it unfolds.
If you hate having your photo taken, you're in the right place. That's literally most of my couples, and it's never been a problem.
Let's Chat
