Lanarkshire wedding photographer
Lanarkshire is home turf for me. I'm based just outside Glasgow in Lanarkshire, which means I know this part of Scotland inside out. I've photographed weddings at venues right across the region, from castle estates and converted mills to modern leisure villages.
Travel within Lanarkshire is always included as part of my standard packages - often it's just a short drive from my door.
Lanarkshire Wedding Venues I Love
Crossbasket Castle, High Blantyre. A properly stunning 17th century castle with beautifully manicured grounds and grand interiors. The castle, the river, and the surrounding woodland give you so many options for couple portraits, and the whole place has a real sense of occasion.
Radstone Hotel, Larkhall. Sleek, modern, and designed with weddings in mind. Great light, contemporary spaces, and a welcoming team that know exactly what they're doing. A brilliant option if a classic hotel wedding is what you're after.
Eden Leisure Village, Cumbernauld. Something a bit different. Eden offers beautiful outdoor ceremonies and a real sense of escape despite being close to the city. Perfect for couples wanting something more relaxed and woodsy with lots of colour.
Cornhill Castle, Biggar. A beautiful castle venue set in the Scottish Borders countryside (technically just over the Lanarkshire line). Gorgeous grounds, grand interiors, and plenty of quiet corners for those in-between moments I love to capture.
Folkerton Mill, Carluke. A converted mill in the Lanarkshire countryside with bags of character. Exposed stone, wooden beams, and a genuinely intimate atmosphere that suits my relaxed, documentary-style photography perfectly.
Why Lanarkshire for Your Wedding?
Lanarkshire often gets overlooked, but it's packed with brilliant wedding venues and some genuinely beautiful countryside. You've got the Clyde valley, rolling farmland, castle estates, and enough variety that whatever your vision for the day, there's a Lanarkshire venue that fits.
It's also incredibly accessible. Most venues are within 30 minutes of Glasgow and easy to reach from Edinburgh too. That makes it a brilliant option for weddings where your guests are travelling from all over.
And because it's my home patch, I know these venues well - the best light, the best spots for couple photos, the quirks of each place. That kind of familiarity makes a real difference on the day.
What to Expect from Me
I shoot in a relaxed, documentary style. That means I'm focused on capturing the real moments from your day; the emotions, the laughter, the details, the in-between bits that tell the story of the day. No awkward posing, no lengthy photo sessions pulling you away from your guests.
For couple portraits, we'll take about 20 minutes, or a bit longer if you prefer. Just a walk, a chat, and I'll catch the good bits in between. The rest of the day, I'm in the background photographing as it unfolds.
Let's Chat
If you're planning a Lanarkshire wedding and you want a local photographer who knows the area and who'll give you natural, authentic photos of your day, I'd love to hear from you.
