Calise & Ross: A Beautiful Wedding at Historic Dunblane Cathedral & Dunblane Hydro

I had a fantastic day shooting the wedding of Calise and Ross in the beautiful town of Dunblane. It might have been in the month of  November, but the sun was out for this romantic wedding.

Wedding preparations began in Calise’s family home with a large wedding party present. The mood was light and relaxed and the littlest wedding party members were on their best behaviour, enjoying the hustle and bustle around them. I love photographing the bridal preparations and find this is a really nice way to ease everyone into the day and get them used to a photographer being around - it's also a great time to capture all the little details like the dress, shoes and wedding flowers, which Calise's mum created herself!

Before long, the wedding cars arrived to transport us to the impressive Dunblane Cathedral where an emotional Calise married her Prince. Until very recently, it was not permitted to photograph the ceremony within the cathedral, but I was delighted to find the rules had been relaxed recently (possibly due to the recent wedding of our own tennis star Andy Murray, which also took place there)! This meant that I was able to capture some stunning moments from this very historic cathedral for Calise and Ross to cherish forever.

An evening reception was then held in Dunblane Hydro Hotel where we had a race against time to capture group shots and some tender couple moments before the sun set ahead of the wedding breakfast.

Here are some of the best bits from this magical day!
